Nurse said no Benedryl before Humira

      I remember the nurse giving me Benedryl before the Remicade infusion.  I start Humira tomorrow and phoned my doctor's office where they will give me the first injections.  The nurse said no need for any antihistamine.  Anyone's thoughts?

Hmm, well, I suppose if they said no need there must be a reason. Maybe because the Remi is mouse protein and the Humira isn't? Don't really know. Christine, I'm crossing everything that Humira helps you get some relief. Keep us updated...I'll be sending good thoughts your way.

I don't know anything about it but I wanted to wish you luck tomorrow!!! I hope Humira gives you fast results!

     Thank you so much.  I am having a bad morning.  Just call me, good day, bad day..lol.  Guess I ate too much at the Borgata buffet yesterday down Atlantic City but my husband said I barely ate!  No salad, just some fish, baked potato, rice, 2 small plaintains and a tad of pulled pork.  For dessert I did have a piece of chocolate cake and some sherbet.  In the evening, at home, had to eat because of meds and just had some cereal with lactaid.  This morning at 5am got up with the poops and pooped till 7:30...ugh.  Only a bit of blood though, a lot better than gushes of blood on Sunday and Monday.  Guess that 40 mgm of prednisone kicked in.  Wish that urgency would stop.  Have to wear kotex pads.  Took some Immodium.

     To add insult to injury, one of my teeth caps fell off last night while I was eating....rolleyes

Hey Christine, I'm so sorry you are not feeling well today. I'm hoping that the Humira starts working and you can get back to eating all you'd like to at the buffet. On another note, this is kind of strange, but my Dad just had the same problem with a cap; it just fell off. He went to the dentist on Monday, and the dentist told him that the glue the used from this certain manufacturer was bad, and the caps coming loose and falling off has been frequent. Hopefully they can just put yours back on as easily as they did his. Take care!

Christine, I don't know if you will see this before you go, but I didn't have benedryl before Humira. I did have to be monitored for like an hour, but they didn't require the benedryl like the Remicade infusions. I didn't have any problems at all!

Good luck-I am REALLY hoping this works for you.
