Just starting canasa - what has your experience been?

Canasa helped me cut a lot of pain down once I hit the 10 mg. and lower on prednisone on my first flare. I'm still using it with my taper on a second flare.

Last year I experienced a minor flare and started Canasa. It worked very well to get things back under control for me, and it worked pretty quickly. It didn't work as well for me this year, but my flare was much worse and my inflammation higher in the colon. Last year was when the flare was just starting out.

I didn't have any side effects from it that I can recall. I used it daily, but then stopped using it when things were under control again. In retrospect, I would probably taper down from it once things were under control and keep using it a few times a week as a maintenance dose. But while you are working on getting things under control, I would use it every night.
