Had Colonoscopy today

I was SOOOOOOO LUCKY!!!! No standard prep... just the bad BAAAADDDD case of liquipoopie from being sick Saturday night and I was cleaned out enough! I just had to do two fleet enema's right before I went in because I did have a couple of teeny weeny brown soft poopies this morning, but he thinks that was probably the Ensure I drank yesterday coming out.. Neither one of us were totally sure he'd be able to do the entire scope, but LUCKY LUCKY me.... I was clean enough...

So, results are: Inflammation at rectum, and inflammation at the Cecum... Everything in between looked great.. But it wasn't terrible inflammation and NO polyps and NO infection anywhere... He took a BUNCH of biopsies throughout my colon so I should know the results by the end of the week...

I'm SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO Relieved!!! I'd been worried about prepping for the original scope I had scheduled on May 14th.. Now I'm sitting here having an Ensure and some gatorade.. I'll go back to a light diet tomorrow if I feel like eating... I'm SOOO Glad that's over!~

Oh and the Versed this time...... DEFINATELY worth it... LOL... that stuff is AWESOME

Hi and thank you so much everyone.... Feeling a little better today... Still crampy though so I took 2 - 10mg Bentyl's so hopefully that should do the trick. Anyhoo...

Quincy to answer your questions... I'm only taking Pentasa now, and nothing else at the moment. I quit the Wellbutrin, Entocort and all I'm taking now besides the Pentasa is Nexium for heartburn... I don't want to be on any more meds than necessary. The only reason I started the Wellbutrin was to counter the effects of coming off Prednisone.. I am not bleeding and my rectum doesn't feel inflammed so I'm thinking that it was irritated from all the pooping I did Saturday night and then the 2 fleets enema's right before my colonoscopy... BOY O BOY.. was and is my Exit hole sore! I guess my GI wants to wait until the biopsy results come back before he proceeds to prescribing me anything new.. Oh and with the Versed I got Demerol... Nice combo..... I was so happy on that table.. LOL...

I'll let you know as soon as my biopsy results come in... :)

     Good news Susie!!!  Glad it is over for you.  I HATE the thought of colonoscopies..lol.  My doctor is just itching to get up my butt...guess the sig didn't quench his driving desire to explore further .  Every single colonoscopy I EVER had done always showed the same old thing, inflammation in the rectum mild/moderate.  Never had any polyps or inflammation up higher than 6 in.

     By the way, I am allergic to Demerol.  Didn't know that until my very first colonoscopy back in 98.  When they administered it....my blood pressure skyrocketed...216/110!!!  I started vomiting, felt like my head was gonna blow off and I never saw doctors move so fast in my life!!! Pulled the IV out of one arm, inserted some med into the other arm,  wheeled me into the hallway and there I lay for the next six hours being monitored...whewie...what an ordeal!
