Antibiotics, Motrin, etc. for root canal - what about my UC??

Any suggestions would be appreciated.  Should I up the probiotics or take Imodium or ?

I am taking Motrin 400 mg. three times a day for root canal pain and now she put me on the Z-pak in case of an infection. My sinuses are throbbing and painful and I have to go out today.  YUCK!

My UC is under control and flying to Orlando Thursday.  Talk about stress.  I should have waited about the root canal (hind sight). 

Thank goodness for Xanax!!

Yes, increase the probiotics and use imodium to keep things under control. And be sure you take those Motrin with food.

I tolerate NSAIDS well despite my UC, hopefully you will also.

Thanks - seems to be the only thing softening the pain - Lortabs did nothing but make me jumpy!

I always could take Motrin in limited/short time amounts - so hope this time too.

I've recently had two different runs of antibiotics in regard to the hip surgery, and I just kept up with the probiotics -took them as far away from the antibiotics as I could, time-of-day-wise, and, yay! not even a BLIP in my UC.
So - I hope it all works well and you're good for your trip!!

I cut my advil tabs in half to reduce the strength and they still work well.

Well, got the Z-pak and more Motrin - right now burping and burping!  Took the 2 antibiotic pills you take the first day - already having cramps!

BUT - I have not had a BM today so no problem yet.

Since my face is hurting so bad I am eating soft, etc.

Tomorrow ought to be a fun day!  I should be getting ready for Orlando - just do what I can but I BETTER feel better by Thursday!
