hi..... for 6 continuous years i used pentasa and lialda to put me in remession with out using prednisone ,they work very good with me .. i was really happy until the last year when uc developed arthritics ..

the question ( can i use pentasa or lidalda with sulfasalazine ) i tried all other choices (imuran , methotexat , NSAIDS ) and dont want to be on prednisone again or stop pentasa and lialda

Have you consulted your doctor about this? I can't give you a good answer, and it's always best to talk with your doc about options -- let them know you don't want to be back on prednisone and tell them what you want. Then come to a decision together what will work for you what you are comfortable with.

You'd be wiser to use a rectal med in conjunction with one of the oral sulfasalazine.

lonie ... i told my doctor that i dont want to take prednisone anymore. he told me that you have few options .trying methotrexat was the last choice .. he didnt mention the sulfa option , i didnt know why ( the next visit i will )

he ALSO told me when he was ANGRY a little bit ( if you will not taking prednisone arthritics could develop damage to the knee)...
i mean i still have the sulfa option why prednisone is the first alternative they use !?
