Finding a new GI (Galveston, TX)

So I plan have one last appointment in July with my current GI, then I have to find one in Galveston TX where I am moving. It is especially important considering I am on the azathioprine.

Any advice for finding a doctor? I AM going to a medical school, aren't there usually specialists like that on staff?

Yup, they generally do.  That's part of the reason I hope I can get a job back in academia, and have access to really good GIs.

fruitgirl-this is why you are awesome. I just emailed their coordinator.

Actually I know some of my professors do IBD research, I was thinking of working with one of them for one of my first-year rotations. Also they have some research going on in nutritional management of IBD. Should be a good time. Hopefully I can have my doc fax records before I leave ^_^

Aww, thanks. I seriously cannot imagine life without Google. And yes, I am a dork!

That's cool that you might be able to work with someone doing IBD research! Our own Malkavian might be involved is some groundbreaking new info!

My stepdaughter applied at Google, got a phone interview, passed the test and now has a face to face interview tomorrow! Hopefully she will be a Googlette. ;-)

Hmm, my email exploded. Apparently the address is permanently disabled. I will have to call them soon though. Just not today, as it's one of my days off and I've already spent it running errands lol.

Google is great, though sometimes asking real people accomplishes remarkable things lol. Besides being a dork is awesome. ^_^

Hopefully that'll be the case. Also the program is pretty open so I could actually make a career out of it if I wanted to...I just find infectious to be cooler.

For some reason when you say googlette, I am picturing googly eyes with long hair.

Ha, that is funny Heather! Actually, my husband has been to the Google facility in the Silicon Valley and said that it is actually a nerd-heaven; a big think tank. I think my stepdaughter would fit in perfectly with them; I love the way she thinks.
