I read this and found it interesting. Basically it said that generally those who has A, B, or AB type blood will have more mucus when there colitis was active, and those with O will tend to have more blood. Don't know how well this holds, but as a person with type O, it is definitley true in my case.

I'm AB- but I definately have a bleeding problem rather then mucous so this theory doesn't hold true for me.

     I am AB+ and it definitely is right on target for me...lots of mucus when flaring.

I'm B+. I had mucus while flaring, never blood.

Sadly, I don't know my blood type (can you believe that???). I am pretty sure though that I am an O-and I rarely have issues with mucus. I always bleed a lot with flares.

I'm O and I bleed way more than mucous. Wow, that is pretty weird.

A+, but I didn't have much of either. Just lots and lots and lots of diarrhea.

A+ (I think) and I have mucus even when not flaring. When my flare was at it's worst I did have blood but bleeding for me only happens when things are BAD. I get pain, mucus and D before blood. So, definitely true here!

B+ and a lot of mucus. I always thought that was because of the soluble fiber (benefiber) I eat.

O+ and early on my only symptoms were lots of blood and liquid stool I dont think I even had any mucous untill I started taking meds even then my flares symptoms were diarreah about 60% of the days accompanied by blood and only about 10% of them where there was mucous and the other 30% just diarreah.
