6MP + rash

Hi all,

Has anyone experienced a skin rash while on 6MP? I was at the beach on Sunday and since then I've noticed a rash on my arms and legs. It's bumpy and a bit itchy. It seems like it's actually gotten worse since the first time I noticed it on Monday morning, but maybe that's just from scratching? Has anyone else had this? If so, how did you treat it? Does it go away eventually? I know it could be unrelated but it seems like it could be from the 6MP. I went to my dermatologist today who actually couldn't really diagnose it, although he did give me a steroid cream for it.

Yes, 6mp can cause rashes. I have a chronic one on my face (under my nose and around my chin) and I also get a torso rash when I get sick. If it doesn't go away, you might want to ask the doc for prescription strength creams (they come in a variety of dosages) or Elidel. I maintain the one on my face with Elidel and if I don't use it for a day, the rash comes back.
