UGH... Flaring again.....

I just can't seem to catch a break... When my u/c got better, my personal life fell apart, and when I finally feel like things are moving in the right direction, I'm flaring again...

I just hate it.. I sat on the pot tonight and went to wipe and quite a bit of blood on the tissue.. I've been fighting it off for a while I think.. sore stomach, feeling tired and fatigued, today I've had a bit of nausea on and off... I've been really sick with a cold for the last three weeks and I am mostly better but I can't seem to get rid of the scratchy throat and irritated nasal part of it...

Maybe I need to stay in bed for a few days and just do NOTHING... see if that helps maybe... I am SO DISGUSTED right now...

I'm sorry as well.

Rest is good, always. But I think fresh air helps sometimes, too. I know how hard it is to go for a walk when you know you're going to need a bathroom soon, but in someways it really helps. Just being outside and walking around for 5-10 minutes.

Well Q.... ur not going to like this... but NOTHING right now... My GI had me on Pentasa and I wasn't showing any sign of flaring really, just that dang irritating right sided pain that I was dealing with since back in December... so he said I should try to stop taking that and see if the right sided pain goes away because one of the side effects of Pentasa is abdominal pain.... Wellllll.. I took his advice, and the pain is 99.9 percent gone now.

So, I am curious, now that I'm over freaking out I saw blood... that maybe this is hemmies? I'm going to call his office in the am, (it's only 3am here now and see if he can get me in for a peek.

I kinda doubt it, but I'm hopeful.... I don't think he'll want to try the 5ASA's on me again and prednisone is out of the question, so it would mean another round of Remicade, which he's not so unwilling to try now that I've been cleared of having MS...

I mean heck, it cleared me up overnight when I did it back in October.. hmmmmm.... might be worth giving another shot if this blood doesn't clear up in a week or so....

I am really sorry you are going thru this but i do hope the doc will get you in
just in case its not hemmies ya know n u can find out whats going on

Christine, I'm not living back at home... I moved out a few weeks ago and have been doing great in my new place. My hubby is still using, quit going to AA meetings and is just not trying at all to change, so I'm not ever planning on going back... I bled for 3 days when I first moved out and eventually it stopped all on it's own, so I can sum up my flaring to stress mostly. This time I'm not sure why exactly I'm bleeding. I've been sick with a cold almost ever since I moved out and I am mostly better, but still get a scratchy throat and nose every day... Maybe allergies, but I've never really had allergies that made me feel like this before.. Stress is still there sometimes but not as much as before I moved out...

I don't want to go on Pred again because it made me gain 30 lbs and was a PAIN in the ARSE to get off. I was on it for so long and the fatigue and body aches were almost unbearable... I'd rather go right into surgery than ever go on Pred again... So I'm going to try the "rest a few days" and see if that makes any difference.

I never got a hold of my GI today.. gotta call back on Monday... At least I didn't have any nausea today.... whew!

I am actually doing a little better today... The bleeding has subsided quite a bit and I hardly see it now... So weird.. I wonder if it is a hemmie and not U/C.... No more nausea and other than incredible fatigue, I'm feeling better. My appetite is coming back also so eating is almost fun again.. lol...

Also, I wonder if this could all be related to going through Menopause? I am actually in Peri-Menopause and had a very bad bout this week with PMS.. haven't had that for a few months and thought I was almost over it.... I just wonder if hormones could play a part in U/C flaring and acting up...

Hmmmm... At least I have a better outlook on life today... lol... Thanks for being here everybody :)
