Surgery consult scheduled for next monday

Well I saw the GI today and he wants me to get a surgery consult. He says living on prednisone isn't the way to go and it isn't changing things. He says im too young and need to get my life back. It is really weird i am scared but not really. Not sure y?? Maybe i am know that it is time to get my life back and enjoy my sons life as well. I will keep you all informed. Anything suggestions on what to ask the surgeon??

 That is good. You will be able to live a normal life again.

Things to ask

1.  ask about jpouch or perm ileo

2.  ask about open surgery or lapro

3.  ask about any other health problems you may have and how they will affect surgery.

I understand the being scared kind of thing, i was like that too.  I was scared, but i knew in my heart it was the best so i was ok with it

I've got a surgery consult coming up soon myself and was also wondering whether or not anyone who'd already been down that road had assembled a list of questions... I feel like I've already got a pretty good understanding of what's to be expected (largely from reading the experiences of members here), but I'd like to make sure I have all the bases covered during the little time I'll get with the surgeon.

1. Ask how many jpouch procedures this surgeon has performed?
2. Does he/she have any jpouch patients you can talk to?
3. Ask about recovery and return to work?
4. Ask about what to expect post surgery, first week, first month, 6 month, one year?

It sounds like you have been struggling with this for quite a while. I hope you get good news from the surgeon and you get on the road to recovery.
