I'm glad the two of you benefitted from this, at least for a while anyway. To play devil's advocate though, both of you say that after not being able to stick to the diet you both had relapses and resorted to regular UC drugs as you apparently chose that over going back and trying to stick to the diet, which you both say is very difficult to do. I'm curious as to what TANGIBLE benefits you actually got from reading the book (not UC related) and I guess doing a partial diet. By tangible I mean can you actually point to anything specific that it has done for you (not UC related) other than a vague statement of what everyone already knows - eating more healthy is better for you. I don't know how much you can claim that it helps people with UC as not only were you unable to stick to the diet to remain in remission but when you went out of remission you actually chose UC drugs over going back to the diet. Since you are both big advocates of the book but couldn't follow the diet well enough to remain in remission, how do you expect anyone else to have UC success? I'm just curious. Remember, I'm only playing devil's advocate. I realize that certain diets have helped many with UC.
For me the main benefit was that it opened the door to veganism, and that was really life changing for me. It made me realize that I want to live a compassionate life and I feel so much better physically and emotionnaly because of that. Also, the book offered a very different point of view on disease, wich was new for me. I haven't quite figured out this disease yet , so I'm not advocating anything, but I think that it's a good read for anyone with Uc. It's just another piece of the puzzle, and I think the more information we have , the better. For example, the SCD diet did not work for me, but I'm VERY glad I read it, because I learned important things while reading it. I personnaly enventually had to go back to drugs, but I have spoken to a lot of people who healed themselves with this diet, and remain in remission as long as they stay on it. Like I said before , I did not understand how to do this diet properly , and I think this is why I failed before.
