I seriously am doing great eating fruit. I think if you suffer from D its good to back off from it. As far as fungal growth goes I really believe in the fact that since fruit is broken down in the small intestine, it doesn't sit in the colon rotting and becoming candida. Elaine was a biologist and studied the effect of sugar on the colon for her entire life. Alot of people cant tolerate it at all and that is a different story but I think for those of you who are constipated, maybe just try a small amount and see what happens. I have no bleeding and no mucous and I go 3 times a day (after each meal) which I have been researching and have found out is ideal. Pretty cool huh! I think if I flare again I will definitely cut out fruit and start cooking my veggies but for now I'm doing pretty darn good.
Congrats KK!!!!!!

SCD is the Specific Carbohydrate Diet: Read on it you might want to try it. Also go to Amazon.com and read the reviews, type in Breaking the Vicious Cycle

I am only on page 41 of the "Breaking the Vicious Cycle" book and I LOVE it so far. Really makes me understand more of what is going on in my body and why. I am excited to finish the book tonight and start the diet tomorrow. I am glad now I have an understanding as to WHY I can't eat certain food rather than someone just telling me NOT to eat them.
