VSL#3

I wish I had known that many insurance companies will pay for VSL3.

I just saw a new GI. I mentioned that I took probiotics. He then stated that he felt VSL3 was very expensive and not worth the expense, because noone even knows what strains help IBD.

I find his response surprising, considering that doctors usually push prescriptions and that many of the medicines to treat UC are very expensive.

I didn't say anything. I usually get my probiotics at the drug store. If I had known that many insurance companies will pay for probiotics, then I would have asked him to give me a prescription for VSL3 anyway.
