Cramping

No matter how well I'm doing, I can't get rid of the cramping preceding the passing of a long stool.

Is this rectal inflammation and is it my "normal" ?

The same thing happens whether I'm on enemas nightly or part time. On 12 asacol or 9, doesn't matter. On high doses of pred or low. It's been going on like this ever since I got uc

The cramping is intense, but not unbearable. Maybe it's because I know it will be relieved by a bowel movement.

I have no cramping when the stool isn't long.

It just doesn't go away no matter what I do. It's always been there just a few seconds of it before a bowel movement. Manageable in terms of intensity

How can you take Bentylol as needed, if you can't predict when you're going to have bowel movement. I might get the cramp once every two or three days. I have relatively few long bowel movements.

I'm at two days on and one day off re: enemas.

I'm getting good information here. I remember taking Bentylol when I was in a really bad inflammation state and it made me dizzy and drowsy, lost my balance. I was given it in the hospital and took it at home.

Do you think I should add back in the Canasa besides going nightly to enemas.

I've been nightly on enemas for quite a while and I feel it's just my "normal" at this point.

I can't see taking something regular like Bentylol for something that happens infrequently.

But I'm very open to suggestions

Bentyl (in US) is Bentylol (in Canada). If you were given it in the hospital, it might have been a high dosage. Didn't realise it made you dizzy...ugh. that's a horrible feeling.

Maybe, just maybe...with the Lexapro, that will improve?

I think you could try the enemas every second night and the Canasa on the nights in between.

So, that would be enema, supp, enema, supp...etc.
