Yesterday I felt good all day and then out of no where at like 12 midnight I had a flare up. Its so frustrating sometimes. I am just triyng to stay positive. Sorry just wanted to vent. But since the topics up does this happen to others?

Hi Pumpkin - You mean you had an episode of a bm at midnight? Blood, mucus....?
Or just a stool....?
I don't worry unless any given thing happens several days in a row - if I have symptoms 4 or 5 days I consider myself "heading into a flare." To my way of thinking, with my dicey gut, a day's diet of certain foods - and no bm - might lead to one at midnight, without it meaning I'm really heading into a flare.
My son had a slight flare last spring in which he was going 4-5 times per night for a few weeks. He was fine during the day but exhausted from lack of sleep! I've not had a flare like that, but... we got it addressed fairly quickly and he's been fine.
What meds are you on?
If I do think I'm heading into a flare - it took me decades to learn this (and I learned it from good people here) I would up my meds, go to nightly enemas, etc.

Yes, I have good days and bad days. I don't think one evening of flare symptoms means you're headed into a flare. Maybe you ate something that disagreed with you? I usually have my worst flare symptoms first thing in the morning. I agree with songlady, rectal meds could be helpful!

Canasa is a rectal mesalamine suppository. Most of us like the mesalamine enemas. They treat lower inflammation right at the source. Rowasa is the one I use. I learned about
it on this site and asked my Dr for it. It made the biggest difference for me. Most doctors dont automatically prescribe it because some people have hang ups about
using anything rectally.
