Prednisone side effects?

It is probably because it's been a relatively short course. If you can get on and off quickly, you may not notice a lot of side effects. It seems some people have trouble getting below a certain dose and will have a relapse of their UC. They then have to increase the prednisone to get rid of the symptoms and you end up on the drug for longer than you desired to be. That's when you see side effects like weight gain or acne, hair loss/growth, moonface. I did have other more minor side effects when I started a short course: insomnia, anxiety, inability to sit still, heart pounding, feeling hot...

I am also taking salofalk (which im 99% sure is mesalamine) and immuran. been on the earlier since septemeber of 09 and the later since may of 2010 but not on full dose bc my wbc count is too low. Almost no side effects from those thankfully.

The inflamation is affecting my entire colitis (pan colitis?) with slight inflamation in the ileum aswell. My dr. calls its crohns colitis but im pretty sure its just colitis.

incase ur curious, heres my brief story. Diagnosed in september of 09. Got kidney stones in november of the same year. Became super anemic in march and had to get an iron infunsion that june. As im sure you know this makes sports and school very very hard. In the last year I played provincial level soccer, have been contacted by universities for football, and finished school with a 95 average which i cant complain about but god i cant help but imagine how much easier it would have been if i was healthy :s As im sure everyone knows this colitis things definetly makes things harder :/
