I've been MIA for a while, but now I'm back and feeling great! Having UC for 13 years now, I've had many struggles..but it seems that things are getting better and easier!
I have been seeing a nutritionist/homeopathic doctor for about a month now and have seen significant changes. I had a food sensitivity test done, and therefore I try my best to stay away from those foods, and in doing so I feel more at ease. I am still on 8 Pentasa/day, and don't feel it's time to start tapering yet. Some of the supplements I take include Glutamine, Aloe Vera Gel, Flax Oil, Probiotics, Vitamin B, and GI Fortify (a powder which consists of slippery elm, marshmallow root, licorice, etc). I am drinking a lot of ginger, fennel, and peppermint tea to help with digestion and inflammation..as well I have added ground flax seeds to my diet which has helped to bulk up my stools.
This is the first time that I have gone the natural route to help my UC, and although everyone is different, I do encourage it as it has helped me a lot thus far!
