It's very possible this med is causing you issues. Here are some of the possible side effects from this med in regards to gastrointestinal:
Gastrointestinal: Nausea, vomiting, epigastric distress, abdominal cramping, diarrhea, constipation, mesenteric arterial thrombosis, ischemic colitis.
I take a low dose of Norvasc on occasion for my Raynauds and so far it has had no impact on my Uc, but I imagine if I took it at higher doses it might start affecting me. It's good that you are getting in to see your doc.
Can you tolerate fiber? If so, you might want to start a fiber supplement to bulk up your stool. When I am having D, I tend to eat ripe bananas and rice to help bulk my things up a bit because I can't tolerate fiber supps. As for the bleeding, the only thing that helps me are steroid enemas. Once you get into see the doc, be sure to mention rectal meds because they can help tremendously with urgency and bleeding.
