2pm i started taking Movi - Prep has tomorrow i am having a Colonscopy

At 2pm i thought i would check google to see what Moviprep taste like and i found a few sites, and yours i felt was the best, alot of questions with this stuff, so i thought, if you got the patience with me, i would let you know in not so descript detail what i am about to go through.

A friend of mine told me to go buy these things.

Straws

Lemons

Flavoured water

Lemon Barley cordial

Chicken cup a soups

Toilet wipes with a moisturiser added.

Okay, now i got the equipment, Last night i made old fashioned lemonade, but with no sugar, as this mades the taste worse, i made it up and put it in the fridge to chill over night, as some of you know, you also have to take 4 senakot before bedtime, this morning, i had to go to the toilet, usually only 1 is needed, so yes 4 had me going, and it was soft.

So, Lemonade made, toilet wipes are in the fridge also, a pile of magazines next to the toilet, heating on low, so i don't get a chill, i make up the Movi Prep.

IT SMELLS DISGUSTING! its two sets of As & Bs.

*mix packet A with packet B each time.

The first set you have to make up 1 litre of solution, it bubbles at first, but stops only lasts a second or two, then you know i am faced with a jug of Moviprep, i have one glass of water, one glass of lemonade that has not be diluted its very concentrated, and a straw.

I have upto now sipped half a litre, advice DO NOT THINK YOU CAN DRINK IT IN ONE GO! you got to sip it through a straw, otherwise you will projection sick all over the place, it doesn't give you time to get a bowl.

Just so you know, the taste is just not descriptive enough to tell you what it taste like, i am sipping through a straw so its not so bad, its bearable, its far from any taste i have ever tasted, its like salt, chemicals, weirdness of taste, but not gagging just yet!

So, i am at the moment going to drink the other half litre.  At 6pm i shall be back, tell you more, on my 2nd lot of Moviprep.

4.20pm - 1st lot taken last tumbler glass full made me gag, but i did my best, my thoughts all the way was, drink it and you can have clear chicken soup, its my reward for that ghastly taste, i still cannot put a name to what it taste like, much worse than disgusting.  But thank god to my friend who gave me the advice, shes had 4 lots of this Moviprep, shes been awake and asleep for tomorrows procedure.  If she had not given me this advice, i would not known about the sipping of the stuff with a straw, which IS A BRILLIANT IDEA! and also, if you sip slowly, then your allowed to drink this stuff in 2 hours, now i am to give myself a break for 2 hours before i have to start it all over again.

I am enjoying the cup a soup now, no veg, no bread lol, just clear soup.

Does anyone know if you have to drink all of the 2 litres i am seriously struggling now, i got about half litre left, and its taking me forever to drink it without throwing it up...please add advice is you got any? xx

Yea you gotta drink it all. My advice is to get it really really cold and use a small cup to drink it, and just keep gulping down cups. Its easier to chug a whole smaller cup because your eyes make your brain think it isn't that much fluid, so its easier to keep gulping down a bunch of ice cold small cups than it is to try to chug a big 16 oz glass over and over.

Thank you, i am now down to two small cups! been at this forever, i can see i be awake all night, got to be at the hospital at 10am, only thing thats worrying me now is the other end is burning! x

Just in case of future scopes, no you do not have to drink it all. If you are going clear then it's good. Also, it helps if you eat a light diet a few days prior to the prep. I did the Moviprep 2 years ago and I was clear after the first batch.

Thank you, all went well i did not eat after 10pm the night before the Moviprep, the worse part is the taste of the moviprep, but it wasn't so bad cos i could drink the concentrated lemonade, which made it so better, the brilliant comment about the small cups helped me with the last bit.

I am very sore, got bruises on my arms and hurt from the ribs down, they had to put in some stitches because i had 3 paper cut type things that had to be closed up, but they used stitches that melt, so i may see them on tissue etc,

The sedation was not as bad as i believed beforehand, i would not be scared again, the weird process was not as bad, because they give a drug where you cannot feel the biopsies taken or the stitches done, all painfree at the time.

I hurt now, but i can handle that.

The hospital staff were amazing, i give them 10 out of 10.

The hospital food was rubbish, first time i have to say i am complaining about the food, but other than that, alls well at the moment! got to wait for results now! xx

Well...since then i've been back to hospital to A&E, That precedure has caused a twisted bowel, in agony pain, been to and fro the doctors yesterday aswell as the hospital, they mentioned hospital stay, but i said no thanks, i have to take some tablets now for 3 days, and i am not allowed to eat any food for 36 hours to wait for it to untwist, all this because i use to bleed, i rather have the bleeding than a twisted bowel, this is caused by the colonoscopy! woopee blumming woopee!

If it does not untwist i have to then go into hospital for an operation to untwist it, so not happy but thats life isnt it!
