Anyone have Lasik while on Imuran?

Has anyone been advised against having the Lasik procedure because of their UC, or their UC meds?

I am ready to take the plunge in January, but am concerned about the eye surgeon saying no because I am currently on Imuran (150 mg/day) and have been for the past several years.

I have never had a problem with healing in the past though, and, in fact, I rarely get sick with colds or flu so my immunity can't be that bad can it

Just wondering if anyone has any experience with this, or if anyone has had Lasik while on immune suppressants.

I had Lasik outside of a flare. I will tell you one thing, healing was stressful for me. I had some complications.

If I had to do it again I would not do it. Glasses were fine for me, and why should I put myself in that stress. Everything turned out good for me now, and I appreciate not having glasses, but it was stresssssssssssssful.

Ginger, I don't know about the UC side of things but I sure hope you get to have the procedure. My eyes were both -9.5 and when you sit up from that table and the doctor asks you to look across the room and read the clock it's surreal and amazing. Good luck!
