Thought I was over a flare and bright red blood starts

Hi all! It has been several years since I posted (couldn't remember my log in information so had to resign up!). So sorry if this is a bit long!

For some history....had UC approximately 5 years. Have occasional flare ups but they usually clear up about I start Rowasa. However the end of Sept/beg on Oct. I got a UTI and my gyno put me on Cipro. I think I took 2 pills before I started to flare. Upped my Colazal to 9/day, restarted Rowasa nightly. I really didn't have a ton of D but more blood and mucous. Anyway after about 2 weeks I finally started to feel better and the blood and mucous went away. However 2 days ago I started having bright, bright red blood mixed in w/ the stool, in the toliet and on the tp. Again no d, formed stools, no pain or other symptoms.

I have an appt. w/ the NP at my GI's practice. I see the actual GI in December. I really like his NP and she sees a lot of his UC/Chron's patients so she is usually helpful.

I am hoping I have some internal hemmroids going on and that is causing the blood. But wondering what my next option would be if she says that is not the case and she says it is rectal inflammation.

Of course we are going on vacation in 2 weeks. I had a colonoscopy in August 2009. Due for another one in Aug. 2012 (had some polyps so I'm on the 3 year plan).

Thats so wierd because i had the exaxt same thing happen to me a couple days ago. I was diagnosed with UC  a few weeks ago but I think ive had it since March, but i had to wait 6 months to see a GI. So far the only medication I am on is Salofalk 2x a day. But the same thing happend to me, I was feeling good, not that many urgencies, and when I did go to the bathroom it seemed normal. And then a couple days ago I had blood again, and there was some mucous in there too. And like you im hoping that its just hemmroids because I dont need any other problems lol. Although im thinking it may be something that i ate, because i did decide to eat some smoked sausage (i couldnt resist) so maybe that caused some digestive issues.Im seeing my doctor again on Monday so ill see what she says.

^They removed all the polyps during my colonoscopy.

Saw the NP today at my GI's office. She added a hydrocortisone suppository for the am as I do have some internal hemmies.

Hmmmm added a siggy but can't get it to show up Will try again!
