Pain associated with Prednisone & Lialda

Is abdominal pain a side effect of either Prednisone and/or Lialda ?

Our daughter is doing much much better but her abdominal pain is almost a constant.  She has different degrees of it.  From dull to stabbing pain.

Her stomach also seems to burn.  She is taking protonix.

Her spasms seem to have gotten better.  Will the pain get better/go away once she tapers down further ?

I just recently was moved up to Lialda 4x about 2 weeks ago. It's been causing so much trouble, extreme cramping Etc I just called the doc today and told him I'm not taking it anymore. We are going to talk tomorrow to discuss what's next.

My abdominal pain got a lot better when I got off pred. I'm not sure about the Lialda. Also, pred causes stomach ulcers, gastritis, etc. So, that might be the cause there. Has she been tested to see if she has an ulcer?

Had an endoscopy yesterday as well as a sigmoid.  No ulcers, thankfully.  It has gotten a little bit better in the last few days since we dropped from 4 Lialdas down to 3.  Also, we're continuing to taper the pred. so that is helping as well.  The endo did show mild gastritis.  The protonix should help with that.
