I had surgery after suffering with ulcerative proctitis for twelve years. The UC never traveled further than the rectum. I credit Colazal for that. However, the rectum was a mess. On 6MP for seven years, Remicade failed after third infusion and no change after three months on Humira. Prednisone dependent for two years.
Had the surgery June 28th, total colectomy and permanent ileostomy. Still having "issues" but overall soooooo much better. I only take 1 pill per day (toprol for BP). After taking anywhere from 17 - 25 pills daily for years, this is sensational!
