Well, I just wanted to let everyone know that things are going great with my new girlfriend that moved by me. She has calmed down and feels a lot better about having UC. Well, every year I have about 20 or more people over for thanksgiving, and planned the same for this year, but, my oldest son said to me,"Dad, with all the money it costs to have everyone come over we could help a lot of people". So, I thought about it, and called a little meeting with my friends. It was decided that each family would pick a place in need and have thanksgiving there. well, I choose a place for batterd and abused familys. I hosted a mother with 2 girls, ages 4&9 and a batterd father(yes they are out there) with 2 kids, a boy 6& a girl 11. So we had a great time and everyone was happy. later that night, my sons, 7&11, were talking with the other kids and the other kids was kinda sad cuz they knew that they would not have a good Christmas due to their living situation. Well, my oldest said things could get better by then, and my youngest said, Santa can do anything for Christmas. Later I over herd my boys talking to them selves and the oldest said he wished santa would give all his toys to those kids cuz they need it more and my youngest agreed. I talked to them and asked if they really ment that, they said yes. Right then and there I had them put it in wrighting telling santa that, and told them I'd make sure santa would get the letter. I made some quick calls, and everyone has decided to "adopt" the thanksgiving people for christmas. We also made it our "mission" to help find jobs for them. So, this year, my kids made me feel the true meaning of the season with their selflessness. I asked both my son's, where did they get their way of thinking from, to not be so selfish, and they said "it's just the way God made us". I smiled and then I cried. I was so proud of them. I just wanted to share this with all of you..
