Confused! Is it CU or something else causing problems?

As the title says, I am confused over my own situation. Here is my story:
I was diagnosed with CU in 2000 shifting between good and bad times. In October this year I had a sigmoidoscopy showing inflammation of the colon as far as the fiberoptic could reach. I was put on Prednisolone (starting on 75 mg/day, currently I am on 10 mg/day) together with Asacol (tablets and klysma), which I am still using.

In November I had another sigmoidoscopy because the symptoms had not disappeared. It showed a little inflammation near rectum, but overall was the colon looking healthy.

Now I still have symptoms: 4-6 bms/day in average (600-900 g feces/day or 1.3-2.0 lb feces/day), light, some slime and pus. No blood. Diarrhea sometimes but mostly not. Gas (mostly at night).
Besides that I feel tired and have some skin problems (back, lower back, chest, left hand), which itches little.
My weight is stable.

So the question is: Is it CU or something else?

I've had a colonoscopy years ago but no recently. Anyway, Prednisolone is a standard treatment for inflammation in all parts of the colon.

The symptoms I listed in the first post are very similar to the symptoms I had before the Prednisolone treatment. I just find it weird that I can have the same symptoms with a colon with and without inflammation. I don't believe in the IBS explanation, as the total feces mass per day is so relatively high.
