painful bowel movements

Hello I have had UC for seven years. I just started back ging to a gastro recently. Anyways, when I go to the restroom it is difficult to have a bowel movement and very painful. Even to pas gas I have to be on the toilet and strain. The bottom of my stomach is always hurting and filled with gas. I take asacol and I am starting cortienema when it is arrives at the pharmacy. If any one have a solution to ease the pain please let me know.

Hi..welcome!

No other way to ease the pain except to maybe take Tylenol to maybe take the edge off. I hope the enemas arrive soon!

You should call the doctor on Monday and ask for an antispasmodic. I use dicyclomine .. 10 mg should help you.

As your rectum heals, so should the pain.

What other meds are you on?

Thanks, I will call my doc on Monday. I take asacol and the enemas when I get them.

Sounds like you might just have a fissure...take hot(not too too hot) sitz baths and use suppositories; also don't push to hard and if your stool is hard try Colace

I disagree that it's a fissure. Sounds like one tender rectum.

Since the OP said it is difficult to have a BM (including pain etc) and having to strain, a fissure is quite possible...
