I'm in Dublin :) I am originally from Scandinavia, but been living here in Ireland for over 10 years. I have been attending the GI clinic in the Mater hospital and the care has been ok. You don't see many irish people in this forum, I don't think

Im Irish, not from Dublin though.. Im from Belfast! nice to see local ones are on here I believe 99% on HW are from America

I live in England but all my family are from Belfast. Was over there for Christmas.....nightmare having UC when there's no water and you can't flush the toilet!

good to see some people from Dublin have we not got an Irish site like this.

I am on imuran and still getting a flare just started flaring last week nightmare had a couplke of drinks over christmas don't know if that has triggered things for me.

hi bowiestar in stating imuran tomorro its says not to drink heavy on it so mayb thats ur answer, what u think of that drug? im a bit worryed about talking it if u read my lastest post and get back to me it would b great.thanks

I'm from Dublin. Do be on the Crohn's forum. Right before Xmas I felt like crap meself, and I went to me GP and he gave me 20mg of Prednisolone and it made me feel alot better. Back eating and no more D. I'm on 100mg of Imuran as well and tapering to 5mg of pred. Still have to get up during the night sometimes to relieve meself so I'm not back 100%. Did you see your GP? He'll probably start ya on Pred and make an appointment with your GI. I have to see mine on Friday. See what he says.

hey pauly and the walrus I find imuran ok been tired alot since I started it but its alot better than feeling the way I did.
Wasn't to sure about going on it at fiurst but I had no choice in the end hope it works for me beem on it 6 months now but still having a little flare at the moment.

Hi All.
I'm in Wexford. Haven't been on for a while as have been in a drug induced remission for the last 6 months or so. It took me a while to get there, and went through hell in the process, but finally from Humira, Asacolon and Omega 3 supplements worked.
Have just found out I am pregnant, and have been advised by my Doc to come off the Humira and keep with the Asacolon and omega 3. Really hoping this will work.

In answer to your question bowiestar, no there doesn't seem to be anything like this for us here in Ireland. I asked my nurse IBD section is there some kind of support group for people with IBDs in Ireland and she said not really.
