Hi and welcome!
I would echo what has been said so well above: rectal meds. There are steroids and 5-ASA (mesalamine) based rectal meds, suppositories and enemas. The enemas are small bottles of stuff that we administer at bedtime and hold through the night.... sounds weird but is not so bad, and the medication goes right to the inflamed place. So, many of us find those very effective, more effective than oral meds, which apparently don't reach the "bottom" of the system very well.
The Rowasa or Salofalk (depending on what country you're in) enemas and Canasa suppositories would be related to the Apriso.... and the steroids are related to Pred and Entocort, although I find the systemic effects minimal or completely absent. (Others have reported more side effects than I've had.)
I, too, take Metamucil and VSL#3....
But for starters, maybe ask you doc for some Rowasa...
Keep us posted!
