Name Brand Rowasa vs. Generic...

I've taken two generic forms of Rowasa enemas, neither time lasting very long. One of the generics gave me terrible flu-like symptoms, which people on here said may have simply been an allergy to a certain ingredient that company used. Have any of you tried both the generic and name brand versions and noticed a difference? My co-pays on medicine are 15 generic/ 35 regular, so the price is not a big issue. I used the generics to try to save my insurance company some money (a 600 dollar difference!).

I use perrigo with any issues.

They never make less because you use more benefits. They just raise rates.


I think somebody posted that their is a sulfa free formula of Rowasa.I think somebody said the generics all contain sulfa. I was wondering if this could be the cause of the flu symptoms. I got wicked flu symptoms(headache, fever and achy tired) from the sulfa in Sulfasalazine.If I take high dosage of oral and canasa, I get horrible headaches after 3-4 weeks. Having an open wound can greatly increase systemic absorption of all the ingredients in 5ASA meds. I get the feeling that everyone will suffer intolerance reactions if pumped full of enough of the meds we take. The amount differs though.
