Light Fevers-Side Effect?

Brand new to the forum, hi everyone! I was diagnosed with pancolitis this year, although GI said that I've probably actually had UC since I was in high school (I'm 28.)

I've been on Asacol since October. I started to flare in the beginning of August and by the time I was diagnosed was in a severe flare. It's worked wonderful for cutting down all of my symptoms except fevers (around 99-101) at night time. I'm curious as to whether this has been a side effect of Asacol for anyone, or if it's a lingering symptom.

I also want to say how excited I am to have found this forum, it's been so helpful to read about other people's experiences. Thank you!

Sounds like your uc may not be 100% under control...try upping the dosage and rectal meds.

Thanks for the messages! Mine has spread through the whole colon. I'm on 8 pills a day, I'm thinking that I probably need to increase since I haven't been feeling great the last week. My fevers usually start around 7 or 8 pm so I think they are a little different from night sweats, although I definitely experience them once in a while too.

I often get chills & fever with now other symptoms. I think it's related to my u/c because I tend to have bowel
issues around it. Also I too have experienced the night sweats. Never had those before I took Asacol.

it's a side effect for me. I always know when i am in a flare if i experience those even before other signs appear.
