I always go to female doctors and they have always been very compassionate. Not for me, it's about
50/50. Two of my worst MD's were women but my current GI is female so I didn't hold that against them. I choose based on competency, both the doctor's and their office/support staff.
Some doctors
hate the internet because it takes away their power to be our only source of information. Good doctors
like informed patients, saves them a lot of time explaining. My doctors are good at answering my questions based on what I've read online. However I've found that in the past year I am sometimes a little better informed than they are. My GI suggested VSL#3 after I'd been taking it for almost a year. Better late than never and good suggestion for her other patients who don't read HealingWell UC forum
I don't have any GI horror stories, mine are other medical specialty related so I'll skip them here.
