Pain after colonoscopy

Had a colonoscopy 2 days ago and have  cramps in my stomach since.

I usually have stomach pain with the ibd anyway but these cramps aren't going away and a feeling of discomfort has anybody else experienced this after colonoscopy

It might be the air trapped in there. I find that if I drink peppermint tea that it helps break up the air, but some Uc'ers have issues with peppermint. If the pain gets worse or it continues, you may need to call your GI.

If you google you will find exercises that help remove that trapped gas, I had to do those after my last colonoscopy & they were very effective...forget what I googled, but it popped right up..

I had some pain after my most recent colonoscopy but it went away after a couple days. You probably just need to rest. Did you call your GI and tell him what's going on?

Yeah, it's fairly normal to have some discomfort for a few days. Especially if your colon is inflamed. You can also have more blood than usual if the GI took a biopsy or removed any polyps. It will eventually get better unless you have major complications.
