Hello ladies,

I've had an IUD (Mirena) for a few years now and I am thinking about having it removed. I am worried about the bleeding that will start afterward. I know that my UC symptoms tend to exacerbate during the period time, and I am scared that the heavy bleeding after removing the IUD will put me into a flare. Can anyone relate to this? Have you had any experience with Mirena?

When I had mine taken out, I had periods that were just as heavy as they were before I had mine inserted. I just had another one put in last year because the heavy periods got old, real fast.
