Prednisone and anti-depressants

Good afternoon :) Has anyone had luck combatting the mood swings brought on by prednisone by taking an anti-depressant? I started on 10 mg/day of prozac a few weeks ago and thus far, it's not having the effect that I was hoping for given that I am still feeling very emotionally fragile. There are a lot of questions that I think can be asked, ie. Is the dosage correct, is prozac the right drug, etc. but I'm just wondering how much improvement can reasonably be expected.

Well....it was offered to me but because I knew my depression was caused by UC I opted not to take it. My reason was based on the fact that I was already taking 22 pills per day for UC and I didn't want to add any more to the mix. If you aren't seeing results it could be a couple of things. Your dosage is too low or prozac doesn't work for you. Not all ADs target the same symptoms. Talk with your doctor.
