I've been in the Twilight Zone for about two years. Never quite in the original flare which hospitalized me in May '06 losing 35lbs in weight.
My only flirtation with 'remission' lasted for less than a year when I first went on Azathioprine.
Since then I'm in a sort of permanent semi-flare (avg.4 bms w/blood every day)
Nothing seems to work for me but I see my GI next week, so I will demand alternative treatment to nightly cortenemas (over a year now) and 150mg azathioprine. It's a tough call for me as I react badly to 5-ASAs.
It may have to be remicade but I'll exhaust other treatments first if any.
