How long do you need to lay down to get a maximum effect for a suppository (Pentasa)?
One doctor told me 15 minutes, another told me an hour. It's actually important for me because I'd like to take them at work and I can't exactly do that if I have to lay for a long period of time. Thanks.

I've never laid down for a suppository....I've used them on occasion for hemmies/fissure.
I think if one has the tendency to not be able to retain one, then maybe 5 minutes.
This is obviously something I've never considered as necessary.

I, too, use them "on the go" and don't lie down at all with them. (I've used them at work also!)
Interesting, the different opinions of the docs.

no kidding songlagy..extreme at times.
One wouldn't need to lay (lie?) down after the supps..just make sure they're high enough into the rectum..just past the sphincter.

I think I would take a weekend and experiment with it to see what happens. Then you would be comfortable doing it at work.

Yep...I've used them at work and gone right back to sitting down or walking around. I'm always scared I'll forget to lock both doors though. :)
