Any new LDN news?

I'm just curious if there's been any new advancements made on the drug LDN (Low Dose Naltrexone) for treatment of UC. I notice this topic seems quite relevant in the Crohn's forum but is kinda no where to be found on the UC forum board. From the research and search inquiries I've done, this drug seems to have mostly positive reviews, just wondering why there isnt more discussion. Im just a little curious when I search for information about it on this particular forum the only threads I seem to find are dated 2009 or later.

Did you look on the LDN website? I believe they have a fairly active community. I have seen a lot more ositive results posted from people with Chron's but that may be because they are using it more. Not too sure. I would definitely try LDN if all else failed. I asked my GI about it and she didn't seem to keen on writing a script for it. I'vve heard you would have more luck going to a rheumy or a GP for the script. I have heard the reason there are not more studies is becase there isn't a lot of money to be made on LDN. Not sure if this is true.

Please let us know how you do if you decide to try it. There was a user here called glamourgirl who tried it but didn't have great results. I think therearemiracles tried it too without great results. You could try searching for the username and LDN in the search box above.
