recently diagnosed

 about four months ago i was diagnosed with uc. shortly after that i spent about a week in the hospital taking iv steriods and a remicade infusion. I retured home and for the next three weeks it seemed like things were improving I had another infusion and started to taper off my steriods. two weeks later everythinhg began to go south I took a third infusion double dose and started my prednisone again. was wondering how many infusions does it take to start working? and does anyone suffer from insomnia while taking prednisone? if so how do you cope with it no sleep is eating me. thank you

Greenthumb, it can take up to five infusions for big changes, although for most people there is at least some improvement by the fourth infusion. For some of us it was a sudden improvement, for others more gradual. I hope it will start working for you soon.
