Starting Methotrexate Today

I have both UC and I developed arthritis due to it. I am currently on sulfasalazine and humira. My GI and Rhuemy is trying to battle both with the same drugs that works for both. I pretty much got my UC Under control (still not fully in remission yet), but my arthritis is not fully responding to these drugs. My rhemy is adding Methotrexate to see if that will help the arthritis.

I see that it is also good for Chrones, so we will see how it reacts to UC too. The side effects has me scared a little, but i am going to be monitored with blood work every month.

I hope you get the much needed relief from it. I have a friend who has CD and is on it weekly...as well as Remi when needed (not a continual schedule).

I don't know if her joint/body/back problems are somewhat related to the CD since she was in 2 (no fault) car accidents, but maybe she'd be much worse if she wasn't on the methotrexate.
