     I was watching Dr. Oz this morning and caught the end of a conversation they had on there pertaining to whipworm.  Something about a cure for Crohn's and UC???  What's that all about?  I already had my surgery last year but wow, if this is something you people suffering with UC and Crohn's can look into..go for it!

We have discussed worms here quite a bit. There are a few threads if you search. While the topic interests me hugely, I don't believe that there is too much conclusive evidence that this will "Cure" UC. It can eliminate symptoms while the worms ae alive in your body but the worms can last a few months or a few years and they are about 4000$. That's a lot to spend on a *maybe*. Don't you think? Also the Human Whipworm which is the one that is supposed ot be most helpful for UC is carried by a human donar and if the donar has any diseases, you are susceptible to gettng these illnesses. It is an interesting topic and I would love to see more studies done and more safe places to buy the worms but as it is not FDA approved, it is very hard to get helminths in the US. I am on the Yahoo Group for Autoimmune Therapies and there is mixed feedback, some people do great and others, not so great. it's the same as any other treatment.

I think you're better off with surgery, no more "what ifs".

Talking about "alternative therapies", has anyone heard of the fecal transplant? It was in a news article a few weeks ago. This young man had his mother donate her feces, which was then blended with saline and inserted via enema into the young man...after several treatments he was cured. It is still in its infancy, but it seemed to work. If you search for the article online it has more details than what I included above. I think it may have been in a New York paper. My friend sent it to me, but I know we aren't supposed to include links in these posts.
