I am the same way Eva. ...it's difficult to know exactly where things come from.
Same here.
I'm thinking of becoming a vegetarian. I already cut down my meat to only organic fish and chicken. Mostly, I eat veggie burgers, which are considered packaged.
My boyfriend grows our green beans, squash, and pumpkins. I get my spinach at Whole Foods. He doesn't like spinach, and I eat it year-round due to it helping my IBD.
I buy organic eggs, butter, milk, cheese, breads, rice, noodles, plain oatmeal, bananas, strawberries, carrots, pineapples, ...
I don't add condiments to my foods anymore. I've gotten used to it. I do eat mild curries though, owing to turmeric being anti-inflammatory.
I make my own Chai. All the ingredients come from Whole Foods. I don't add sugar to my Chai.
I usually bring some snack food (such as bananas) that I can eat to parties just in case. I also examine the ingredients of foods at parties. Usually, I'm only able to eat home-cooked baked goods. If I can't eat it, then I don't. HFCS gives me severe diarrhea; so it's not hard to keep away from foods at parties if I have to.
I don't eat potato chips, pretzels, candy, ...
I will bake
cookies once in awhile. I make them from scratch, using organic ingredients.
Mind you, after my divorce, I was consuming only chocolate and HFCS bubble teas. Life has changed... Having experienced what it's like to bleed out the butt will do that...
