I just came off a lovely round of pred, and I'm starting to feel stiff all over, trouble sleeping, and sore feet. I am still on 200mg Imuran( 16 months) does anyone have similar results ? Not sure why, or what to do for relief . I also have moderate depresion, and fatigue. (low hemoglobin)

buttcon, I felt the same way when I got off pred and I still have a lot of stiffness. I was also very depressed but it seems ot have passed. I am fatigued too but I always am, I think it's worse since taking 6mp. Do you have your blood checked regularly? Did your doctor recommend iron for your blood?

yes I get blood work done every 2-3 months, all is well except he wants me to take an iron sup 3 times a day for a low white blood cell count. I find this very hard to do as this causes serious constipation.

The more I read about all the symptoms after finishing Predn, the more I'm afraid. Tomorrow I'm gonna start my 10mgs per day week, and then one more week on 5mgs (this is the tapering that my GI suggested), and if everything is fine, in two weeks time I'm off.
I started Predn around Easter this year, 30mgs, so in total it's gonna be something around 6-7 weeks on that steroid. Please, tell me, for how long you've been on Predn and how high your dose was. I know that side effects are very individual and probably weaning symptoms as well, but I wish I have some info.

I was on a fairly short run for pred just 12 weeks. last time on pred was 18 weeks. 2 years ago I got messed up when I came off too fast, it was terrible withdraul symptoms. I start at 40 mg and taper 5mg per week or so.The worst side effect while starting pred was the desire to harm people, it was hard to control my rage, I had to avoid conflict and traffic on the road for about 10 days. I also felt like I could just keep eating-anything. after finishing the most disturbing symptom is depression, if it gets bad I would suggest getting some help. I wish you success.
