6mp upped sore mouth and tongue

my consultant has just upped my 6mp dose from 50mg to 75mg and i have now got a very sore tongue and roof of my mouth just wondering if it has anything to do with raised dose,it is quite painfull to drink/eat anything hot.
Have only been on new dose a few days.

I have been on 50mg and 75mg and I never had that. I would think it could be a sign of a reaction but if you've never had trouble on 50mg, it's strange. I would call the GI and let him know what is going on. It's probably nothing but better not to worry - hopefully it goes back to normal in a day or two.

I just went from 50 to 75 about a month ago & had the same thing for a day or two. Never even figured it was from the upped meds but I guess its possible.

Lambkins-- I got a strange mouth reaction last summer from prescription eye allergy drops that apparently interacted with my UC med. It happened after the 3rd day of consecutive use, and returned to normal about a day after I quit using the eye drops. I mentioned the problem during subsequent office visits to my dentist, gastroenterologist, & ophthalmologist; none of them were surprised to hear it. Their attitude seemed to be: Things can happen. So I'm glad to read that your mouth/tongue feels better today and hope you continue to adjust well to the new med dosing. Let us know how you're doing. / Old Hat (30 yrs with left-sided UC; presently in remission taking brandname Colazal)
