Differing results with different meds?

I was curious if anyone had different results from similar, but different coated pills. Specifically, since I was first diagnosed years ago the only pill medication meant for UC I've tried was asacol and then switched to Lialda. I feel like the Lialda does absolutely nothing for me. So I'm curious if I would have different results with other extended release style drugs? I've never tried pentasa or others.

tiesto, people definitely see different results with different mesalamine medications. Some do better on Asacol, some on Lialda. I believe there are some who do better on Asacol 400 vs. Asacol HD or vice versa. Apriso dissolves at a lower PH which works better for some. Colazal is a capsule which is better for left-sided colitis. I would definitely try different options before assuming none of the meds work for you. I would try going back to Asacol first and see if that helps.

Have you tried any of the rectal medications?

I was originally diagnosed with UP so the first medication I was prescribed was canasa. Since then it looks like it has changed to UC which usually has mild symptoms until a really bad flare recently. So currently on prednisone and started remicade along with my 4 lialda a day. I have an rx for rowasa but don't really do too well with them. Tring out everything right now from smoking to e cigs. I'm doing better with cramping but still have blood and non formed stools. Hoping the remicade starts to do something as I'd like to just be on that alone (2nd infusion in a week).
