LDN - Dr will prescribe - need instructions

He needs to know exactly how to prescribe it. I know 4.5 mg, but does it have to be made at a compounding pharmacy? Is that a standard dosage? Does he need to specify the filler?

Please help so I can get started on this.

Also curious to know how to prescribe this since I see my GI doc today and was hoping to bring this up.

So glad you were able to get him to prescribe it.

Yes, it has to be done through a compounding pharmacy.

I would recommend you get it as a Transdermal Cream @ 4.5mg to avoid any filler related reactions.

Thanks! I found a bunch of info online, and contacted my local pharmacy, who will compound it.

They suggested 3mg/ml and then I can control the dose - maybe start with 3mg and work up to 4.5 mg. I did ask for transdermal.

I emailed my Dr the study info from Penn State University, and prescribing information, so I will see what he says.

I am also considering doing the antibiotic therapy too - as I really have nothing to lose except my colon.

If you're getting the transdermal, please make sure they're compounding it with Emu Oil. It apparently is critical to ensuring proper absorption.

It is so nice to hear of a doctor who is open to LDN.

InSoFla - I called the pharmacy, and they do mix it with Emu oil.

My Dr is doing some research before he prescribes, so I am waiting. For now, he did prescribe the antibiotic therapy, which I started yesterday.

That's good (about the Emu Oil).

You know there are 2 studies that were done with LDN by Dr. Jill Smith of Penn State with Crohn's patients, one in 2007 and one in 2011. Perhaps you may want to give your doc both studies, no?

I hope you get some relief from the antibiotics in the meantime.

I was wondering if you can explain what antibiotic treatment your doing
im interested in doing it

also im going to be emailing my doctor information on LDN
I live in australia and not sure if the doctors here will agree to prescribe it

There are LDN prescribing doctors in Australia.

I'm pretty sure anthonyv is from Australia too, and he got his LDN.
