Bleeding even after colon removed..

Its been about 2 years since ive been on here and to be honest im really scared that im back here again :( I was diagnosed with Ulcerative Colitis March of 2008 and by the time I was diagnosed Id already had it about a year and was so far into the disease that there was no saving my colon..it was my choice to go with the surgery and it was the best thing I could have ever done! No more pain no more bleeding no more medicine! I had the surgery to remove my colon in November of 2008 and had a temporary ileostomy for 6 months..got that removed in April of 2009 and its been a few years. Ive had some bleeding here and there but for the past 3 weeks or so it wont stop. Ive bled 4-5 times since then and today there were small blood clots which REALLY scared me bc I havent pooped out blood clots since I had UC. Im really worried and wondering your opinions about this. Keep in mind that Ive switched new jobs and my boss is a witch so i have some stress with that right now. When i had UC and would get stressed my stomach would hurt and i would bleed. But why am I bleeding now?? I havent had a colonoscopy since 2009 so I dont know whats going on with my insides but Im going to call my doctor tomorrow and hear her opinion. But for now, WHATS GOING ON :(

Welcome back and its nice to meet you, I'm Serenitee. I would definitely suggest seeing your Gastrenterologist asap. What ever is going on you shouldn't be bleeding like that, I would think. I'm sorry that this is all coming back on top of a stressful new job and a witch as your boss. It's probably best to get another colonoscopy done.

I have a Looop ileostomy since May 2011, its temporary for now. However, I see my Colon Surgeon in a couple weeks & we will be discussing about makin it permanent...Removing at least the Large intestines, sigmoid colon and rectum. I really hope he schedules to do it. I definitely do not ever want to go back to the way I was...Living with a Ostomy bag is just fine with me...Lol

Cuffitis? I bleed like that and I only have about 7 inches of rectum. Not sure if you would bleed that much from the cuff?

Hey Bella, as you probably know, most of the users here have UC and don't know too much about surgery but we do have a handful of posters who have had surgery who can give better advice than I can.

My questions are the following:

Did you have an endoscopy or thorough testing to confirm you do not have Crohn's disease?
Did they remove the entire large intestine including rectum and create the pouch with the small intestine?
Could you have hemmies or a fissure? Do you have pain? I have a fissure that comes and goes and honestly, sometimes it bleeds a lot, to the point it is scary but I can feel it tearing so I know what causes the bleeding.
Have you had stool tests to check for bacteria? You could have a bug that is causing the bleeding.

I wouldn't stress. It is probably due to something bacterial. See your GI asap and find out what is going on. I am sure antibiotics will get you back on track.

Its probably cuffitis and is easily treated. See your surgeon or GI.
