Hello everyone. JUst an update of my salofalk enemas 4g treatment.
Had to stop the treatment for a week or two because of bad hemmies however I restarted the enemas around 3 weeks ago.
Although im not in remission ive seen some benefits and here they are:
-I used to have 2-3 bm in the morning now max 2 (still some gas and mucus) however no blood.
-I used to always go after lunch at work but no more for 3 weeks. Not even one time and how many times ive went to the toilets in hope of something by habit but really.. nothing. (touch wood)
-Evenings were time to time occupied by gas and mucus but rarely now.
-BMs arent perfectly formed but there is improvement.
-At first enemas were difficult to put and they leaked a lot. Now it take a few minutes only and procedure is straight forward.
Overall I learned to be patient and one step at a time is really the key. Morings are still hard however morings seem to be everyones weak moment of the day. So I expect this to be last healed.
I can surely say (knock on wood) enemas are my new friends now. And my favorite meds so far!!

It's really empowering to take charge of your situation with the right meds. Glad you're seeing progress and happy about
it. Enemas are my best friend too. I've discovered though that I need a shot of topical mesalamine every 24 hours whether through enema or Canasa (suppository) I haven't been able to taper without a return of symptoms.

Yay...yes, patience is difficult.
I'm happy to hear you're doing much better. How are your hemmies at this point?

Hiya. yes patience patience lol
Journey im not frustrated anymore by the idea of having to depend on meds. I used to not accept it and always were a bit inconsistent or dreamy about
it. Now im way not ready to taper and if i have to take them to stay in remission one day i will.
It will enable me to do more in life.
Quincy well my hemmies shrunk so much. But the itchy feeling stayed though. The hemmies itself dried up quite fast but this itchy sensation seems to haunt me.
Also as much as possible I take the shower head with cold water to help the itchy feeling and to deep clean the area.

stefanie, are you using any meds for the hemmies? Good to keep the area clean, but using something like proctocedyl ointment should help a lot. At least with the itchy feeling.
