UC and work

i work with children myself, it's hard to get your UC managed in an environment like working with kids. It is understandable about maintaining ratio and giving the kids stability. I've been in horrible jobs like yours, but I found ways to get out of them and still get some income coming in until I find a more understanding job in child care. Is there a way you can get temporary disability? If so, that gives you some income coming in and you can keep your job still, and also get your UC managed well enough to go back and be a stronger teacher for those kids. Or, you can find a more understanding job at the same time as you are getting your UC managed.

Whether the time is now or next school year I definitely think you need a teaching job in a good sized school district that has easier access to resources, substitutes and union reps. My mom is a teacher and this would never happen in her school. Granted she works with an amazing group of people. They have gone so far as to donate their sick days to other teachers who are out for extended times and don't have enough built up. There are great work environments and great people out there, I hope you find them in your next job!

I just can't believe how some people behave, but I do believe it because I have been treated awful at work as well from this illness. I always think these people must not have much adversity in their life and how would they feel if someone was treating there son or daughter or spouse like this!

The job I had closed down before my UC had gotten bad, I used to work part time at the plant DuPont and night. Since then, i have gotten pretty bad off with UC. It seems as if i stay in a flare most of the time. I have to run to the bathroom constantly especially the first half of the day but mostly in the mornings, 3 to 4 hours. On and off.
I cant even visiualize trying to work right now unless i could find something as i used to do to, part time and evenings or nights.
I know i couldnt keep a job during the day...i am scared of what could happen with the "accident" situation bathroom trips and urges.

How do anyone cope with this? And yes i have complained to the dr. and on Asacol, nighttime enemas that have the same meds in it, and tried pills for urges, etc.

And has anyone had to stop working and were able to get on disability for UC?

Which I dont want to really do that, on the side, I still dance, rarely....but i like to impersonate a celebrity and do that on special occasions such as others birthdays, events, parties, weddings, etc.
