Thanks for the advice guys. Glad I found the forum and can talk to people who have actually been there! I've been on Salofalk enemas since June 2010 when I was first diagnosed (with Predsol enemas for that first month too). Tried Mesalazine tabs for 3 months after that but they didn't hold it, so back to Salofalk enemas for the next 6. That didn't hold it either so tried the S. enemas with Asacolon tabs (3 p/d). Now I'm on double dose of the tabs, the S. enema and the Predsol...
My consultant did prescribe Predfoam this time but it's short at the moment and pharmacies can't get hold of it. I've tried waiting until after a morning bm to take the predsol, but unfortunately when I'm in a flare-up I get constipation and could be waiting all day for that to happen! Ironically, the predsol soon takes care of that ;o) Tried a half dose of immodium this morning, which seems to have helped (so far so good 2.5 hours later). Not a long-term solution but I'll only be on the steroids for another few weeks, so it could get me through the bad mornings. Fingers crossed this bout of meds will see me right - I'm fed-up with constantly being too tired to think straight!
