Hello All,

I'm new to this forum so I'll keep it short. Saw the colo-rectal doctor a week ago and he said innate proctitis and maybe an infection so he put me on antibiotics (cipro and flagyl). He says it might be UC but wants to do more tests in a few weeks.

My question for those of you who have experience is what were your symptoms like in the beginning? I'm nauseas all the time (probably from the antibiotics), but on top of this every night I get a low fever 101-102 F. I do have the pain during bowel movements and a dull pain in the rectum all the time. Is this similar to anyone else's symptoms early-on?

When I was first diagnosed, I had sporadic diarrhea, rectal pain, some bleeding. I was naive and thought it was hemeroids. :) but than the left sided pain started and I finally decided to go to the doctors.

How did the surgeon diagnose you? Did he do a colonoscopy?

Did he give you any rectal meds?
